About EclectiPhonics

As the name implies, this duo/trio draws from a broad palette of musical influences to create a fresh new instrumental style. Principal composer, guitarist and midi-instrumentalist Chris Screven has not only mastered complex guitar techniques inspired by African, Brazilian, Jazz and Blues traditions, but can also trigger an inexhaustible library of acoustic instruments and electronic sounds from his midi guitar. Co-composer, pan-global percussionist and seven-time GRAMMY® Nominee Will Clipman has at his disposal an arsenal of over one hundred ethnic drums and indigenous percussion instruments to bring just the right timbre, tone and texture to the band’s deeply groovy yet melodically and harmonically sophisticated soundscapes. Bassist and Flutist Joe Townend provides an anchor and atmosphere that stands out on its own as well as providing a solid backing for Chris and Will’s improvisations and orchestrations. The result is an exciting musical mélange that is at once uniquely original and immediately recognizable: anEclectiPhonic vibe that knows no boundaries and expresses the pure joy of creation. It should also be noted that this music does not use AI during the composition or performance process.
